Violet Defense Inks Deal with LSC Technologies

In order to expand its customer reach, Violet Defense has entered into an agreement with LSC Technologies. LSC Tech will serve as the master distributor of the Violet Defense UV technology for commercial customers looking to incorporate it into their cleaning and disinfection protocols. As a result, we hope to see Violet Defense solutions in the hands of more users in the near future.

Orlando Magic and Violet Defense Team Up to Keep Players Healthy

Violet Defense Announces Partnership with Siemens

Siemens and Violet Defense have announced they are now working together to have germ control added to Siemens Building Solutions smart building systems across the nation. The integration of Violet Defense products into Siemens technologies will make it easier to control harmful germs at the buildings controlled by Siemens systems, including hospitals, office buildings, hotels, food production, and government locations.

We are exceptionally proud of the Violet Defense team for this milestone, and are looking forward to the great things they will accomplish together with the Siemens Building Solutions experts.

ecoSPEARS Expands Its Office and Adds New Jobs

Our partners over at ecoSPEARS, the exclusive licensee of NASA’s patented Sorbent Polymer Extraction and Remediation System (SPEARS) technology, announced last Wednesday that they have moved from a start-up incubator office to a large commercial space in Altamonte Springs to accommodate their growing workforce. ecoSPEARS also announced that Dr. Phillip Maloney and John Omana are joining their team, to serve as Principal Scientist and as Director of Government Affairs and Land Use Entitlement, respectively.

Violet Defense Germ-Cleaning Units Installed at Promise in Brevard

Violet Defense has donated $80,000 worth of Surface and Air Germ Elimination (S.A.G.E.) units to Promise in Brevard. Promise in Brevard is an up-and-coming housing community for individuals with special needs being constructed in West Melbourne, FL. The donation helps ensure a safe and healthy environment for Promise’s residents through the integration of hospital-grade sanitation technology. Additionally, Violet Defense and Promise have agreed to join together in a research partnership.

The 165 units were installed at the new independent living community for young adults, and will outfit the main campus, café, and bakery. Due to the mix of both commercial and residential facilities, the partnership with Promise does an excellent job of showcasing the breadth of the Violet Defense technology’s applications.

WSJ Runs Article Exploring How Masayoshi Son’s SoftBank Makes Its Investments

SoftBank is arguably the largest tech investor in the world, and the Wall Street Journal has run an article giving a peek at how the fund and its founder, Masayoshi Son, go about choosing its headline-making investments.

As the article describes, and we’ve noted previously, SoftBank made a $200mn investment in Plenty in October 2017. At Kirenaga, we believed in Plenty’s potential back when we became the first institutional investor in the business in 2016, and despite our conviction having only increased, it’s still incredible to see how much the firm has grown over such a short period. We’re delighted to see the Plenty team continuing to get the attention they deserve from other investors and the press alike.
